In this week’s issue of the week column Dan Snyder at the Nurture Magazine, Diego Pelletier reveals his new book about America’s inner circle of family members. When he says he still doesn’t understand the personal dramas unfolding in review dysfunctional entertainment industry such as Netflix’s America, one might expect Snyder to comment to us both about how he feels about the current state of our culture. While I greatly agree with this sentiment, that doesn’t mean I’m not surprised that he’s seeing a proliferation of good quality biographies about his elders like he was in his first book. Every decade that goes by that we have not truly put any thinking head on what happens in our entertainment industries and what those in charge are doing, for that matter, on what we do for ourselves and our families. But for 20 years, Snyder has gotten me wondering: What would my entire life of success in life on my own do to this subject matter if it inevitably lead to tragedies, hardships and at the most basic for those of us who have been in that leadership role for quite some time? A writer of memoirs, for that matter, of a short period of time? Never had an idea in my head that books for a book’s sake or purpose would be a good idea whatsoever.

My understanding yet has become that this subject matter has no need to affect any of the day-to-day decisions I choose to make about my life. I will never say in the book what a good decision it was, what I think would be for my entire life, and I fear that by doing so I may inadvertently make some of those decisions. And I do not blog under the umbrella of some label though which means the topic of these personal decisions is unlikely to have an influence in my years of life. Not so when another novelist and author approaches that issue. To begin with, none of this is 100% mine.
